Do you know Carlos Kaiser?
Do you know Carlos Kaiser?
Trust me, you do.
He might not work with you anymore, or maybe he worked with you in the past, but you know him.
He has an amazing title, he even claims to have done this role before. He shows up at the office, has a role in the team, and maybe even attends meetings occasionally.
He wrote a post on LinkedIn about his amazing job, and everyone commented:
“So true!!!”
“Spot on!”
“Wow bro, that’s perfect!”
Every time he did, you took a screenshot, sent it to your friends, and said, “How the F#$% does anyone believe this story?” And then you moved on, because unlike Carlos, you actually have work to do.
If Carlos had been born one day earlier, it would have been the perfect story. But our Carlos was born on April 2, 1963.
Carlos Henrique Raposo, known as “Carlos Kaiser,” is a former Brazilian soccer player famous for managing to sustain a professional career while barely ever playing in official matches. How few? Between 1979 and 1992, Carlos played for 10 teams (some more than once) and racked up exactly zero games.
It’s amazing to learn he was registered as a striker, as if it mattered when he never actually played.

Kaiser used various tactics to avoid playing, like faking injuries, pretending to take calls from foreign clubs to boost his value, and fostering relationships with journalists who wrote glowing articles about him. He was known for his charisma and networking skills, which were his main tools for staying in the soccer world without actually playing.
Any resemblance between Carlos and people we all know is, of course, purely coincidental, and this post should not be seen as hinting at or referencing any real individuals.
